  1. This is disk 957 of the freely distributable AMIGA software library.
  2. Below is a listing of the significant directories and their contents.

  5. PARex        PARex is a program which allows you to process files, mostly
  6.         textfiles, whereby strings can be replaced by another, text
  7.         between two strings can be stripped, strings put in lower or
  8.         upper case.  PARex supports normal text searching, wildcard
  9.         searching, context remembering and word-only searching.
  10.         Using data scripts enables the use of an unlimited number of
  11.         such replace commands.  Each replace command can be indivi-
  12.         dually controlled.  All ASCII codes can be used in the
  13.         search and replace strings, even entire files, dates, times,
  14.         can be inserted in such strings.  Custom formatted hexadeci-
  15.         mal output is also supported.  Over twenty ready to use
  16.         program scripts are included to perform simple tasks as:
  17.         converting files between different computer systems, strip-
  18.         ping comments from source files, finding strings in files,
  19.         converting AmigaGuide files to normal text files,... even
  20.         automatic version updating of source files.  By the way,
  21.         v3.00 is about two to more than twenty times faster than
  22.         the previous versions, and is supplied in english, german,
  23.         french, and dutch.  This is version 3.00, an update to
  24.         version 2.12 on disk number 859.  Binary only (but the
  25.         source is available), shareware.
